In human trials
Partial epigenetic reprogramming
Briefly using Yamanaka factors to reset a cell’s epigenetic age without erasing its identity.
How it works
Short or limited expression of reprogramming genes (OSKM or OSK) aims to restore youthful DNA-methylation and gene-expression patterns while keeping cells in their specialized state. It targets epigenetic alterations directly.

What the evidence says
Honest about what is proven, and what is not.
Cyclic OSKM expression improved aging features and extended lifespan in progeroid mice (Ocampo, Cell 2016), and OSK restored vision in aged and glaucoma-model mice (Lu, Nature 2020). Life Biosciences began the first human Phase 1 trial (ER-100, eye injection for glaucoma and NAION), dosing its first patient in June 2026. There are no human efficacy data yet, and safety risks such as uncontrolled cell growth are a key concern being studied.
Considering this for yourself?
Many longevity therapies are experimental, off-label or not FDA-approved for aging. A physician-guided evaluation weighs your labs, history and goals before anything is started.
